# Damage, loss and costs

> Report damage with a photo, track the repair, complain to the supplier, evaluate loss and shrinkage – and know what tools really cost.

Tools break, disappear or cost more than you think. Tulz keeps all of it in one place: the mechanic reports the damage with a photo on return, the foreman decides on repair or replacement, the complaint to the supplier goes out straight from the report with photo, numbers and purchase date.

Then there is the cost side: purchase price, repairs, calibrations and replacement per tool, asset export for accounting and order proposals when a tool is missing or constantly booked out.

## How it works in the workshop

1. **Condition on return** – fine, dirty or defective; "defective" automatically creates a damage report ([Condition on return](https://tulz.work/en/help/article/return-condition)).
2. **Handle the damage** – photo, description, decision: repair, replace, retire. The tool is blocked meanwhile ([Reporting damage](https://tulz.work/en/help/article/report-damage)).
3. **Complaint** – within the warranty by e-mail to the supplier, with everything they need ([Complaint](https://tulz.work/en/help/article/warranty-claim)).
4. **Loss** – report lost or stolen, with last user and value; the shrinkage report shows where it keeps happening ([Reporting loss and theft](https://tulz.work/en/help/article/loss-and-theft)).

## What comes with it

- Costs and assets per tool, export for accounting ([Costs, assets and procurement](https://tulz.work/en/help/article/costs-assets-and-purchasing))
- Procurement with order proposals, order and goods receipt ([Order and goods receipt](https://tulz.work/en/help/article/purchase-order-and-goods-receipt))
- Shrinkage report: losses, value, last user, long-overdue loans as a risk ([Shrinkage](https://tulz.work/en/help/article/shrinkage))
- Documents on the tool: invoice, warranty, calibration certificate
- Recycle bin and log – nothing disappears without a trace

## Who it is for

Workshop management and stores that want to know what tools cost and where they get lost – and every business that does not want to give away warranty cases.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can the mechanic report damage himself?

Yes, on return with one tap – with a photo from the phone. Handling is done by whoever has the right for it.

### How does Tulz know whether the warranty still applies?

From purchase date and warranty period on the tool; the damage report shows it and suggests the complaint.

### What does the shrinkage report show?

Loss and theft reports in the period, their value, who had the tool last – and loans that have been overdue for weeks, before they turn into a loss.
