# Redistribution: move tools to the site that needs them

At one site the engine support bridge has been sitting in the cabinet for months, at the other it is constantly requested or always taken. Before a second unit is bought, Tulz suggests moving the unused tool under *Reports → Overview → Redistribute instead of buying more*.

### How Tulz finds suggestions

It compares the **same kind of tool** – the same OEM number or, without a number, the same name, manufacturer and type – over the last 180 days.

- **Located at**: the site where the tool was lent out at most once and is currently free – not reserved, not in a case, not a tool on loan from outside, not in a calibration shipment.
- **Needed at**: the site that requested this kind of tool from other sites at least twice, whose own units are at least 60 % utilised or that put them on watch at least twice. The reason is shown underneath, e.g. “3 requests to other sites · 87 % utilised”.

### Moving

**Move to …** (with confirmation) assigns the tool to the new site. The storage location is freed; the tool crib and the foreman of the new site receive the notification “A tool is coming to your site” with a link to assign a storage location. The move appears in the log and in the tool's timeline. You take the tool itself over as usual.

Tools that are on loan or reserved, belong to a case or are in a calibration shipment are not moved – Tulz tells you why.

### In the purchase calculator too

If you calculate a tool in the purchase calculator that is lying unused at another site, the clues say “… is unused at … – move it instead of buying?”.

### Who sees suggestions

Suggestions only appear with several sites and only when viewing **all sites** (head office) – for users with the right *View reports*. Everyone with the right *Create and edit tools* can move tools.
