# Warranty claim to the supplier

If a tool breaks within the warranty period, send the claim straight from the damage report – with photo, inventory and serial number, purchase date and your customer number.

### Preparing the claim

On the damage report (*Damage → open report*, anyone allowed to handle damage) you'll find the section **Warranty claim to the supplier**. At the top you can see whether the tool is still under warranty – the date comes from the *Warranty until* field on the tool. Expired? You can still ask for goodwill.

- **To**: the supplier's email. If the tool has a supplier that is set up with an email under *Administration → Suppliers*, the address is already filled in.
- **Subject** and **Text** are prepared – with tool, manufacturer, serial number, purchase date, damage date and description. Change whatever you like.
- **Attach damage photo** and **Copy to me** as you wish.

### Sending

*Send claim* sends the email via Tulz; replies go straight to your email address. Prefer your own mailbox? *Open in my email program*, attach the photo yourself, send it and then confirm *Already sent from my own email program*.

### Tracking the status

After sending, the report shows when the claim was sent and to whom. Set the **status** to *Accepted (replacement or repair)* or *Rejected*, with a note – e.g. "replacement comes with delivery 4711". The repair itself is tracked as usual further down on the report.
