A timing belt kit has 24 parts, an engine locking set twelve. Anyone who enters all of them by hand gives up after the third set. That is why Tulz has the set library: catalogues from tool dealers and manufacturers from which a set is taken over with its complete contents list – by article number, by link to the product page or by pasted text.
Afterwards every part is its own entry with supplier and OEM numbers, searchable like any other tool. On return Tulz asks about completeness – if the crankshaft lock is missing, it shows up immediately and not on the next job.
How it works in the workshop
- Create tool → Take over set – enter the dealer's article number (for example XXL-123151) or paste the link from the shop.
- Check the proposal – Tulz shows name, parts with numbers and suggests a category. Groups like "sockets 10–19 mm" are split into single sizes, noise from shop texts is filtered out.
- Take over – the set and its parts are in stock, labels can be printed for set and parts.
- Return – tick off the contents list; missing parts are noted and chased.
What comes with it
- Set library with catalogues that dealers and manufacturers provide themselves – the first partner is XXL Automotive
- Take-over by number, link, text or bookmark (Taking over a set)
- Duplicate warning when a set with the same manufacturer or EAN number is already in stock
- Parts with several OEM numbers (Tool sets)
- Tool names translated automatically into English and Italian if wanted (Translating tool names)
- CSV import with a "parts" column for stock from other lists
Who it is for
Every workshop that buys sets rather than single tools – and dealers who want to spare their customers the data entry. How to keep sets complete is in the guide Keeping tool sets complete.
Frequently asked questions
Which manufacturers are in the set library?
The library grows with the catalogues dealers and manufacturers provide. If a set is missing, it can be taken over by link or pasted text – the contents list is then read from the shop text.
What if the contents list in the catalogue is incomplete?
Every proposal can be edited before take-over: add parts, delete, correct numbers.
Can I save my own set as a template?
Yes. Sets you have created are in your workshop's library and can be duplicated for identical sets.
