Some tools may only be used by people who have been briefed – the high-voltage test adapter, the lifting gear, the welding equipment. While the foreman is on holiday, someone needs his rights for two weeks. And when an employee leaves, everything should be back before the account is switched off. Three situations in which notes, memory and good intentions regularly fail.
Tulz turns them into fixed procedures with proof: the briefing is recorded with two signatures on screen and checked before every issue, the deputyship ends on its own on the end date, and the leaver check shows on one page what is still open.
How it works in the workshop
- Require a briefing – tick "Briefing required" on the tool, optionally with a validity in months; without a valid briefing Tulz refuses the issue (Briefing record).
- Brief and sign – enter employee, date and content, both sign on the tablet; the record is kept with the tool and with the employee.
- Set up a deputy – choose the role and the end date for the deputy, at most 92 days; afterwards their own role applies again automatically (Temporary deputy).
- Complete the leaving – the leaver check lists tools, pick lists, reservations, NFC cards and passkeys; take back first, then deactivate (Leaver check).
What comes with it
- The block applies everywhere: issue form, kiosk, scan, pick list and API
- Reminder to the foremen before a briefing expires
- Signatures are stored securely and are part of the employee's data access report
- Deputies receive the notifications of their deputy role, start and end are in the log
- "Take everything back" on leaving: returns, pick lists and reservations in one step
- On deactivation cards, passkeys, signed-in devices and push subscriptions are removed; the history remains
Who it is for
For businesses with high-voltage vehicles, lifting gear and other tools that require instruction, for workshops with regular holiday cover and for every business where employees come and go. More on the high-voltage duty in the guide High-voltage tools in the workshop.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a briefing and a qualification?
A qualification applies to a group of tools, for example the high-voltage level. A briefing applies to exactly one tool and is proven with two signatures.
Can an administrator set up a deputyship for themselves?
No. An administrator sets up deputyships for others, never for their own account, and for at most 92 days.
What happens to the history when an employee leaves?
Who had which tool when remains completely intact. Only after the company's retention period are the personal data anonymised.
