Feature

Care and maintenance

Filters, oil, batteries and updates with interval and checklist, reorder missing parts and see whether a tool pays for itself.

As of

The filter on the A/C service unit, the oil in the compressor, the cordless screwdriver batteries, the update on the diagnostic tester – care that nobody may forget and everybody forgets anyway. In Tulz each of these tasks has an interval, a short checklist and a due date. The tool crib sees what is due today and ticks it off right on the phone. Set up once for a category, the task applies to every unit of that kind – including the ones you buy next year.

When a bit is missing from a set, the whole case often sits in the cabinet as "incomplete" until someone reorders it. Tulz collects every missing part with supplier and original number in the purchase suggestions; when the delivery arrives, the part is booked to the set and the case is ready for use again straight away. Whether an expensive unit has paid for itself is shown by the cost per use.

How it works in the workshop

  1. Create a task – on the tool page under "Care & maintenance": name, interval in days, weeks or months, checklist (Care & maintenance).
  2. For the whole category – set up as a template, every unit in the category gets the task, including newly purchased ones.
  3. Get it done – the overview shows what is due: tick off the checklist, add a note, done. Tulz works out the next due date itself.
  4. Reorder parts – tick missing parts in the purchase suggestions and order them; goods receipt makes the set complete again (Reordering missing parts).

What comes with it

  • Daily summary to the tool crib and foremen when care becomes due
  • History per tool with date, ticked checklist and who did it – also in the timeline
  • Pause tasks while a unit is out of service
  • Care kept separate from inspections: test equipment keeps its log, inspection badge and certificate
  • Cost per use, top and flop and "Buy instead of borrow?" in the reports (Does the tool pay off?)
  • Overdue care also appears in the monthly report for the boss

Who it is for

Businesses with A/C service units, compressors, diagnostic testers, cordless tools and tool sets – wherever a forgotten filter or a missing bit costs more than the minute it takes to tick a box.

Frequently asked questions

Can Tulz also remind us of maintenance that is not an inspection?

Yes. Maintenance tasks such as changing filters or charging batteries get an interval in days, weeks or months and a checklist; due tasks are listed in their own overview, and the tool crib and foremen get a notification.

Do new units get the maintenance tasks automatically?

Yes, if the task is set up as a template for the category. Every new tool in that category – created, imported or added at goods receipt – receives it straight away.

How can I tell whether a tool has paid off?

From the cost per use: purchase price plus inspection and repair costs, divided by the loans since purchase. Expensive tools that are hardly used appear in the "flop" list.
