"Move to recycle bin" instead of deleting – the tool disappears from all lists but can be restored with its loan and inspection history, damage reports, images, certificates and documents under Tools → Recycle bin (period under Settings, 30 days by default; the cron job clears it). If the inventory number has since been reassigned, the other tool must be renamed first.
