A timing belt change does not need one tool but eight. Instead of eight separate check-outs, Tulz has the pick list: a list of all tools, their storage locations and the employee's signature. The list can be printed, taken along on the tool trolley and ticked off item by item on return.
Recurring jobs get a job template: "Timing belt 2.0 TDI" lists once what belongs to it. Next time it becomes a pick list with one click – or a reservation for the day the job is due.
How it works in the workshop
- Create the pick list – scan or search tools, enter employee and job. Each tool appears with storage location, supplier and OEM number.
- Sign – on screen, also on the phone; the list is thereby booked as a check-out.
- Take along – printed or as PDF; whoever adds something on the way simply scans it in.
- Return – tick off tool by tool, the list shows per item where it goes back. If one is missing, the list stays open and reminds.
What comes with it
- Job templates for recurring jobs, with a default quantity per tool (Job templates)
- Planned pick lists: earmark tools for a date, on the day itself it becomes the check-out (Planning a pick list)
- Slips in the workshop network: when a partner workshop borrows tools, a pick list is created automatically for both sides
- Signature with finger or stylus, stored with the transaction (Signature)
- Delete and cancel with log, as long as nothing has been checked out
Who it is for
Workshops running jobs with many tools – engine overhaul, gearbox, high-voltage – and every business that needs a record of who took what.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the pick list without a printer?
Yes. The pick list lives in Tulz; printing is optional. On the phone the mechanic sees the list and ticks off.
What if one tool from the pick list is needed longer?
The loan can be extended per tool; the rest of the list can still be returned.
Do I need a job template for every job?
No. Templates pay off for jobs that come up regularly. Everything else is scanned into a pick list on the spot.
