The shortage forecast tells you in good time when things get tight: a tool is reserved for a day but is still with a colleague – or all units are taken and none is left for an unplanned job.

Where you see shortages
- In the booking calendar (Tools → Booking calendar) the Shortage forecast section sits above the calendar – from today to the end of the selected period. Show displays the affected tools in the calendar.
- When reserving and when planning a pick list: if the period clashes with another booking, a note with the tool, the days and who has it appears after saving.
- As a notification: once a day Tulz checks today and tomorrow. If there is a conflict, the tool crib and foremen of the site get the notification Shortage: tool double-booked – a tap opens the booking calendar at that tool.
The two kinds
- Conflict: more is booked for the day than is available – for example a reservation while the tool is still on loan according to its due date, or two planned pick lists for the same tool. Someone needs to act here.
- All booked: for tools with several units, every unit is taken. Not an error, but anyone who needs the tool unexpectedly that day will be out of luck.
Several units
Tools with the same OEM number count as one tool with several units – without an OEM number, those with the same name, manufacturer and model. If you have two identical engine supports, only the third booking on the same day is a conflict. For bulk items the quantity counts. A unit that is defective, incomplete, at the calibration service or under repair does not count as available.
What to do about a conflict
- Bring the colleague's return forward or Hand over the loan.
- Move the reservation or the planned pick list to another day.
- Request a unit from another site or from the workshop network.
- If it keeps happening: Reports → Bottlenecks shows where a second unit pays off.
Everyone chooses under My profile → Notifications whether the notification arrives via bell, push or not at all ("Shortage").
