Inspection evidence for audit and lab

Inspecting is only half the job – you also have to prove it. On the tool itself, so that everyone sees when the next inspection is due. At the manufacturer's audit or the accident insurer's inspection, when the auditor wants to see the test equipment list with all reports and certificates. And with the calibration lab, whose results someone otherwise types in from a pile of paper.

Tulz takes care of all three: after an inspection is saved, the inspection badge prints with the next due date and a QR code, the audit folder bundles all evidence as a ZIP with one click, and via lab access the lab enters result, inspection date and certificate itself.

How it works in the workshop

  1. Inspect and print the badge – after saving the inspection the link to the badge appears; it prints on Brother, Dymo or Zebra printers in four formats from 38 × 19 to 62 × 40 mm (Inspection badge).
  2. Calibration shipment with link – the torque wrenches go to the lab, the lab gets a link without login and enters result, date, next due date and certificate per tool (Lab access).
  3. Record the return – when the tools come back everything is pre-filled; the workshop checks and books, the certificate is attached to the inspection.
  4. Create the audit folder – one click before the audit: equipment list as PDF and CSV, one report per tool, all certificates and an overview of what is still missing (Audit folder).

What comes with it

  • Badge with a coloured border per result: passed, passed with conditions, failed
  • Badges for many tools at once from the tool list, ZPL file for Zebra printers
  • The lab link is valid for 90 days and only for this shipment, and can be withdrawn at any time
  • The lab only sees number, name, manufacturer and serial number of the tools it was sent
  • Audit folder per site or filtered, for example only torque wrenches
  • Inspection templates with readings and the calibration shipment with pick list (Calibration shipment)

Who it is for

For every workshop with torque wrenches, test adapters and measuring equipment that is regularly inspected or calibrated – especially when manufacturer audits and inspections by the accident insurer are coming up. What good test equipment management involves is described in the guide Test equipment management in the workshop.

Frequently asked questions

Which label printers are suitable for the inspection badge?

Any label printer that prints from the browser, such as Brother QL or Dymo; for Zebra devices there is a ZPL file. Polyester or laminated labels last in the workshop.

Does the calibration lab have to create an account?

No. The lab gets a link that applies only to this shipment and expires after 90 days. Nothing is booked until the workshop confirms the return of the tools.

What does the audit folder show if an inspection is missing?

The equipment list and the enclosed overview name overdue tools and tools that were never inspected. So you can see before the audit what still needs to be done.
