Not everyone should do everything: the mechanic books tools to himself, the storekeeper checks out and takes back, the foreman inspects and evaluates, the administrator sets things up. Tulz brings these roles along and allows your own rules – for example that high-voltage tools only go to someone with high-voltage training.
For the shop floor there is the kiosk: a fixed tablet at the store where everyone signs in with staff number or NFC card, scans and leaves. No own account, no password.
How it works in the workshop
- Create users – name, role, site; by CSV all at once (Creating users, Importing users).
- Check roles – what each role may do is in a table; your own lending rules per category complement it (Roles and rights).
- Record qualifications – high-voltage level, refrigerant certificate, manufacturer training, with expiry date; check-out verifies them (Qualifications and lending rules).
- Set up the kiosk – pair the tablet, enrol NFC cards or write them directly (Setting up the kiosk, Writing NFC cards).
What comes with it
- "My day": every mechanic sees what he has, what is due and what has been reserved (My day)
- Sign-in with passkey, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
- Several NFC cards per employee, a lost card blocks only that card
- Anonymise former employees, GDPR data disclosure at the push of a button
- Log: every change with name and time
Who it is for
Every business with more than one hand on the tools – and high-voltage workshops that have to prove who may use what. Background in the guide High-voltage tools: who may use them?.
Frequently asked questions
Does every mechanic need an account?
Not necessarily. At the kiosk the staff number or an NFC card is enough; an account pays off for anyone who wants to scan on the phone or use "My day".
What happens when a qualification expires?
Tulz reminds beforehand; afterwards check-out refuses the affected tools until the qualification is renewed.
Can I create my own roles?
The roles are fixed, their limits are not: lending rules per category and site binding adapt them to the business.
